What's In A Name
I don't have the prettiest name in town. It has a very nice meaning in Chinese, but when you pronounce it in Cantonese, with a slight change in intonation, it means something totally different and horrible. Stupid being one of them.
I find the Chinese have the strangest names. Fish, Avocado, Picas So (So is the surname), Holiday. The most creative ones are from HK, and the latest one I heard is someone called Money. I guess she believes it's lucky, calling herself Money.
I was telling Mr J about it when he told me about a friend of his, named Beta.
Yes, Beta.
And he has a twin brother. An
older twin brother. Any guesses what his name is?

Starting Again
This is not my first blog.
I had one which I religiously posted for more than two years. In that two years, I have a handful of readers who patiently read my raves and rants. They laughed with me, they laughed at me, they laughed for me.
It was an anonymous blog. It was that one place where I could just let everything go. It was cathartic. Whenever I felt any negativity, I dumped it at the blog. And things are ok again. It was the place where I could say everything and anything I wanted. I could say things to people that I would never say to their face. No one would ever know. Or worse, be hurt.
After 2 years, I discovered that one of my readers met my best friend. She has followed my blog long enough and read enough to put two and two together. She left a message on my blog to tell me that she thought she met my best friend. I panicked for a while, but knowing her, she wouldn't snitch.
Until I saw another reader in my best friend's Facebook.
It was just too close for comfort.
